Kazuhiro Uyama: Testing the Pop

Back in November 2016, I headed again to New Britain Island; a second time this year.

I chose November for the first time in ten years and I planned to go up the river to the most upstream part while going camping and planning to aim for the big spot tail, but unfortunately it was heavy rain. We changed our schedule from 4 days into 2 and mostly focused on fishing estuary to avoid the influence of turbidity.

Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, we did not have much luck and could not catch larger size of black bass or spot tail bass, however it was very good time to properly test FangPop, on which we have been working since last year. FangPop will be released in two sizes of 105 mm and 120 mm. As you have gotten used to with DUO, it has a very good castability even while being fully-wired.

FangPop is very versatile and you can use it with various techniques:

1.) Popping

2.) Dog walk

3.) Straight Retrieve

All these actions are easily performed and well-balanced. Straight fast retrieve has become a very effective technique especially for fish with good sight such as spot tail or tarpon and that was one actions we tested the most thoroughly.

FangPop 105 will be released in July 2017 and I can tell you that you have a lot to look forward to.
